Dr Robert Cheng
Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist

MBBS, BSc(Med), MMed, FRACP, PhD
Dr Robert Cheng is a gastroenterologist and a physician. He is passionate about delivering a holistic approach to medical care and patient-centred health management.
Dr Cheng is a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at Westmead Hospital and a Clinical Senior Lecturer in medicine at the University of Sydney. He has expertise and research interests in bowel cancer screening, liver cancer, viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, autoimmune and cholestatic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease and iron deficiency anaemia.
Dr Cheng has regular endoscopy lists at Macquarie University Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and an active member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
A medical graduate of the University of New South Wales, Dr Cheng received physician and gastroenterology training at major teaching hospitals in Sydney, including Royal North Shore and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. Dr Cheng then undertook a liver transplant fellowship at RPA, and subsequently completed his doctoral research in liver cancer genomics. Dr Cheng is actively involved in collaborative NAFLD, NASH and HCC clinical trials.
Dr Wai See Ma
Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist

FRACP, MBChB
Dr Wai-See Ma is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist in Sydney. She has a broad range of interests in gastroenterology, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, bowel cancer screening, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, iron deficiency, treatment resistant H Pylori, various liver diseases such as viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease, as well as functional gut disorders.
Dr Ma completed her medical degree at the University of Leeds, UK. She completed her specialist gastroenterology training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Westmead Hospital.
Dr Ma is a staff specialist at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals and is a current research fellow with the University of Sydney. She is a senior lecturer at University of Western Sydney where she actively participates in gastroenterology research and medical education.
Dr Wai-See Ma offers endoscopic procedures at Macquarie University Hospital and Lakeview Private Hospital. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and an active member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia. She looks forward to working with you to achieve the best possible outcomes for your patients.
Dr Ma also offers consults in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Dr Henry Cheung
Colorectal Surgeon

BSc (Med), MBBS (Hons), MS (Colorectal), MPhil FRACS
Dr Henry Cheung is a Colorectal Surgeon and his philosophy of managing patients is to treat the patient and not just the condition.
As a Colorectal Surgeon, Dr Cheung specialises in management of colorectal cancers, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, common anorectal conditions such as haemorrhoids, anal fissure and anal fistula of all causes. Dr Cheung has expertise to perform surgeries using minimally invasive approaches and up-to-date techniques. Dr Cheung’s appointment as a specialist surgeon at major teaching hospitals meant he has access to multidisciplinary model of care and most cutting-edge management options for his patients. Dr Cheung’s background as a general surgeon also enables him to manage common conditions such as hernia repairs and provision of gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Cheung obtained his medical degree from University of New South Wales and undertook General Surgical training through Concord Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as well as their affiliated peripheral hospitals throughout NSW and ACT. Following award of Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery, Dr Cheung went on to undertake further subspeciality training in Colorectal Surgery with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand at Concord Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital.
A/Prof Tony Pang
Pancreatic, Hepatobiliary and Acute Care Surgeon

PhD, FRACS FACS AStat
A/Prof Tony Pang is an experienced consultant pancreatic and liver surgeon, accredited with the ANZHPBA (Australia, New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association). His clinical interest is in pancreatic cancer, and he is skilled in minimally invasive pancreatic and liver surgery. Keeping him on the cutting edge of clinical practice are his hobbies as a scientist, inventor and statistician. He is passionate about finding novel elegant solutions to complex clinical problems.
A/Prof Pang has appointments at Westmead Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. He works as a part of a multidisciplinary team of specialists to manage complex cancer cases. He is well regarded by his peers and is a Clinical Associate Professor in Surgery with the University of Sydney.
His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive (keyhole) and open surgeries for pancreatic conditions, liver mass lesions, adrenal gland lesions, gallstone and gallbladder diseases. He is also an expert in minimally invasive abdominal wall hernia (inguinal, umbilical, incisional) repairs, and other complex abdominal surgeries.
Dr Helena Choi
Anaesthetist

MBBS, BSc(Med), FANZCA
Dr Helena Choi is a specialist anaesthetist who enjoys working in a team environment with proceduralists and surgeons to deliver quality and safe anaesthesia to her patients. Dr Choi is experienced in sedation for endoscopic procedures, and providing general anaesthesia for upper gastrointestinal, liver and pancreas, obstetrics and gynaecological, maxillofacial and orthopaedic surgeries.
She currently holds an appointment as a Staff Specialist at Westmead Hospital, and also practices at Macquarie University Hospital, North Shore Private, Westmead Private, Norwest Private and Lakeview Private Hospitals.
Dr Choi graduated from University of New South Wales and received anaesthetic training across major Sydney hospitals including Westmead, Westmead Children’s and Nepean Hospitals. She is actively involved in teaching anaesthetic trainees and promoting the anaesthetic wellbeing group at Westmead Hospital.
Her hobbies include bush walking, yoga and reading.
